Course information and schedule

Pricing, conditions and form of payment

The student, or their legal representative, agrees to pay the total amount of the course to be carried out in accordance with the concepts and conditions stipulated below or in the course catalogue.

Use policy

The virtual campus must be read and observed by each and every client and visitor, to obtain information on the sales and cancellation policies.

By using the website leaguesofcode.com or its virtual campus, the user accepts this use policy. The Academy “LEAGUES OF CODE”, hereinafter “LoC”, reserves the right, at its discretion, to change, modify, add to or delete parts of these terms at any time.

The visitor will be informed periodically of any change to these conditions. Use of the website after expressly accepting the new conditions implies acceptance of those changes; without such acceptance the virtual campus will not allow access.

If the user does not accept the terms described here, they can send us any comments by email and, in any case, stop using the website leaguesofcode.com or its virtual campus.

General sales policy for courses

The user may enrol in the course of interest through the website by completing the corresponding application form and accepting these terms of use and contracting. Once we receive the user’s data, we will contact them as soon as possible to formalise the registration form, which will be sent by email. Underage students must send, with the registration form, the authorisation signed by their parent or guardian, which is included in the same registration as an additional section.

After registration and during the free trial period, the user is able to access their virtual campus. Once the trial period is over, access to the virtual campus is conditional on actual payment of the course or of the monthly payments.

The online courses are carried out through the LoC training platform, which identifies the student by the username and password provided to them.

The user is not formally registered until they have completed registration and payment of the course. Once this is done, the registration is confirmed.

Refund and cancellation policy

There are no refunds for the monthly payment plan.

On the annual payment plan, the user has the right to a refund of the course cost under the following terms and conditions.

On cancellation of an annual plan, a refund of 50% can be requested on all the remaining unused modules at the point of cancellation. For example, if a student or guardian decides to stop participating in LoC after 3 modules, they can request a refund of 50% of the remaining 7 modules — that is, 50% × 7/10 of 1.499,00 EUR = 524,65 EUR. Another option is to put the programme on hold for a period of time and return to it later from the point where the student stopped; with that option the outstanding credit remains in place and no cost penalties are incurred.

In the event of cancellation, the student will not be able to access any content taking place after the next billing cycle. To re-enrol in the programme, the student will not be subject to a trial period, but will be required to retake the placement test and will be placed in a new module accordingly.

Cancellations must be reported in writing, by email to support@leaguesofcode.com. Cancellations reported by any other means are not accepted. The email must contain all the registration data, including the name of the course, the name and surname of the student, the date of registration, contact information, and the reason for cancellation.

Intellectual property and use of the contents

All texts, logos, graphics, images, source code and contents are the property of LoC, or of third parties from which it has acquired the exploitation rights, and are protected by intellectual and industrial property rights.

The user has the right only to private use of the access and its contents, so that these are merely educational; total or partial reproduction of any of the contents is prohibited. The user needs express authorisation from LoC to reproduce, exploit, distribute or exercise any right belonging to its owner.

LoC reserves the unilateral right to cancel access for any user who has violated the conditions that govern this text. That user has no right to any kind of claim for that action, and LoC reserves the right to take as many legal actions as it deems appropriate.

LoC reserves the unilateral rights and ownership of class recordings, which may include voice or video recordings of students. LoC has the right to share these recordings with other users and parties for educational and commercial purposes.

Any use not previously authorised by the provider is considered a serious breach of the author’s intellectual or industrial property rights.

Responsibilities and conduct

LoC does not guarantee that the availability of the service will be continuous and uninterrupted, due to circumstances caused by problems in the internet communications network, possible breakdowns in computer equipment, or other unforeseeable circumstances. The user agrees to bear these circumstances, and expressly waives any claim against LoC for possible errors, failures and use of the service.

Operation of the platform requires access to the internet. It is the sole responsibility of the user to provide the data connection services that guarantee its correct operation, and to assume the cost of the same.

LoC is exonerated from any responsibility derived from any claim, including the payment of fees to lawyers, for demands and claims arising from the user’s breach of the conditions of use or of current legislation.

The impossibility of control over the information, content and services contained in other web pages or applications accessible through links our platform may include must be taken into account, although possible external links will in no case be vital to the development of the course, webinar or workshop.

LoC is exempt from any responsibility to the user for damages of any kind that may arise from the use of web pages or applications other than LoC’s. All navigation through LoC pages and its campus is secured with an https certificate.

LoC may modify the presentation and configuration of its platform in order to introduce the improvements it deems appropriate. It may also expand or modify some content unilaterally, always with the aim of improving matters for the student.

All activity of LoC users must be for lawful purposes only. Any post, email or transmission through LoC services of material that violates or infringes in any way upon the rights of others; that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, vulgar, obscene, profane or otherwise objectionable; that encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any law; or that, without LoC’s express prior written approval, contains advertising or any solicitation with respect to products or services, will be deemed a violation of this agreement.

You shall not restrict or inhibit any other user from using or enjoying LoC. Such conduct includes, but is not limited to, political, religious, commercial or non-commercial solicitation. Any solicitation of LoC users to use other services directly or indirectly competitive or potentially competitive with LoC, including but not limited to hyperlinks and comments, is strictly prohibited.

You additionally agree not to contact any LoC user who has requested not to be contacted; not to collect any user information for any unlawful purpose; and not to stalk or otherwise harass anyone related to LoC.

Zero tolerance on cheating

Over the course of a module, students are asked to solve problems, either during or between sessions, or during a team or individual contest. We have zero tolerance for any sort of fraud or cheating: students must solve the problems on their own and not copy others. Cheating can lead to termination of the agreement, at our discretion. In the case of termination due to cheating, any refunds are paid according to our refund policy.

The user or student is responsible in any case, before the company and the Academy, for compliance with the clauses contained in these terms of use and contract. They are not responsible for a breach as long as it is due to events or circumstances arising from force majeure or beyond their control.

No spam policy

You understand and agree that sending unsolicited email advertisements to LoC email addresses, or through LoC computer systems, is expressly prohibited by these terms. Any unauthorised use of LoC computer systems is a violation of these terms. Such violations may subject the sender and their agents to civil and criminal penalties.

User content licences

You retain ownership of, and responsibility for, your user content. However, in order to provide LoC, you grant to us and to other users, as applicable, the rights described below, with no compensation or payment of any kind. You retain all rights in your user content not explicitly granted to us or to other users in these terms of use.

You grant to us and our legal successors a royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, modify, publish, list information regarding, edit, translate, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display, and make derivative works of your user content in our provision of the site and services. This includes, but is not limited to, the right to make copies and backups; to present your user content to you and other users; to parse it into a search index or otherwise analyse it on our servers; to share it with other users; and to perform any of your user content which may include audiovisual works such as music or video. This licence applies to your user content in whole or in part, in any form, media or technology, whether now known or hereafter developed, and also applies to your name, voice and likeness to the extent incorporated into your user content.

You also grant us permission to use your name, voice, likeness and user content in the promotion of LoC, in the form of showcased users of LoC on our website and other reasonable promotional activities. For any of your user content which is shared publicly, you grant each other user of LoC a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use, display and perform your user content through LoC and, if applicable, to reproduce your user content solely on LoC, as enabled by the features of LoC.

User consent to receive communications in electronic form

For all notices and communications relating to these terms of use, you (a) consent to receive communications from us in electronic form via the email address you have submitted; and (b) agree that these terms of use — including updates to them — and any agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications that we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications would satisfy if they were in writing. The foregoing does not affect your non-waivable rights.

We may also use your email address to send you other messages, including information about your classes, coursework, account status and other aspects of your use of the service, as well as other messages about LoC and special offers. You may customise your communications options by changing your account settings or by sending an email to hello@leaguesofcode.com.

Miscellaneous

If any part of these terms of use is held invalid or unenforceable, that portion will be construed, to the maximum extent possible, consistent with applicable law, and the remaining portions will remain in full force and effect. Any failure on the part of LoC to enforce any provision of these terms of use will not be considered a waiver of our right to enforce that provision. Our rights under these terms of use will survive any termination of this agreement to the extent necessary to give full effect to their intended purpose. We may assign or delegate these terms of service, in whole or in part, to any person or entity at any time, with or without your consent.

You may not assign or delegate any rights or obligations under the terms of service without our prior written consent, and any unauthorised assignment or delegation by you shall be void. These terms of use represent the complete and exclusive understanding of the agreement between us and you regarding LoC, and supersede any other prior or contemporaneous agreement, whether oral or written, and any other communications between us and you relating to LoC.

Applicable law and jurisdiction

The user acknowledges that they have understood all the information regarding these terms of use and contract and therefore accepts them fully and expressly. Everything regarding access to the online courses, their platform and their use is governed exclusively by Spanish law. In the event of any type of discrepancy or difference between the parties, they must submit — expressly waiving any other jurisdiction — to the courts and tribunals of Barcelona, Spain.

These terms of use and contract were drawn up on 16 August 2021, in observance of the provisions of Law 7/1998 of 13 April on general contracting conditions, and have been registered in the General Conditions Registry of Contracting.
